A platform for the Argentine public discussion

Public discussion in Argentina and the world is at a difficult moment. The emergence of AI agents as intermediaries in our communications—whether in the form of bots, consultation chats, or recommendation algorithms—is quite problematic and places our societies in a very vulnerable position with respect to those who control the design of these agents and platforms. A combination of fear of being left out, addiction, and not really knowing what is happening behind the scenes of these technologies makes it hard to change this situation, but it is crucial that we do so.
Cabildo Abierto is a space that allows us to escape this mechanism and, at the same time, proposes new ways of discussing and connecting over the internet. To begin with, it excludes AI from the discussion, offering transparent algorithms and verifying the humanity of its users. Secondly, it combines Twitter-style discussion with a wiki, which makes it possible to collectively build trustworthy information, reach consensus, and discard errors more easily. And finally, its code is open, so anyone can review how it works, and its data is open as well, so that no organization centralizes control over how we communicate.
